What is the toc toc dance challenge, and how do you join?
The Toc Toc dance challenge is a short TikTok dance in which people hop on one foot, knock on an invisible door with a fist on the beat and keep a dead-straight face, to the French party song "Toc toc" by Patrick Sébastien. Toc Toc Dance AI lets you join with one photo instead of filming a group. The generator above is preset to Hallway Rush, the crowd version.
What the challenge looks like
The dance is small and strange on purpose. The dancer bounces, lifting one knee at a time, with arms loose and out to the sides. On the beat, a fist knocks on a door that is not there. At some point the dancer turns to profile. The face never changes: that deadpan is the joke, and it is why a person doing it seriously looks funnier than a person doing it well.
The song is a 2015 French party number, and the clips spread widely through October 2026. French press reported versions from Germany, the USA, Poland and China, and the French Gendarmerie posted one as well. See the trend explained for the dates and the sound.
How people do it
- Dorm halls and corridors. The most-viewed post we found is a dorm hallway clip with 39.8M plays on 6 October 2026. A long corridor suits the dance: people appear one after another and each hops in.
- Offices. Colleagues line up between desks or in a meeting room doorway. The knocking gesture reads well in any space with a door.
- Families and friend groups. A living room, a front door or a staircase. Several US accounts posted a door version from 14 October 2026, where guests dance in one at a time with a tag-a-friend caption.
- Solo. One person, a plain wall, an 11-second take.
The hard part of a group clip is getting everyone to dance in time, in one take, with straight faces. That is the part people drop out of.
How to join with one photo
You do not need the group. Upload one clear, front-facing photo in the generator above, keep Hallway Rush selected (or pick another of the 8 templates) and generate. The result is an MP4 of 11–15 seconds, depending on the template, with the trend sound already mixed in and no watermark. A Standard 720p render costs 10 credits; pricing is on its own page.
Hallway Rush is 15 seconds long and follows the corridor format that went furthest. For a quieter version, Blond Bob Solo is the 11-second one-person look, and Suit Trio gives you three dancers. All templates are on the dances page.
Limits worth knowing
The renders are AI-made, so they are not a recording of you moving. Turns to profile can blur a face, hands vary from take to take, and crowd scenes are directed in words, so each entrance can come out differently. A sharper front-facing photo gives the model more to work with. If a render fails or is blocked, the credits come back automatically.
