The Jean Phil dance is the name many people give to the toc toc dance as performed by Jean Phil, also called Jean Philanthrope, an AI-made character account with a blond bob wig and a vintage suit whose clips spread the dance from late September 2026. Toc Toc Dance AI has no link to the account and does not use its images.
Who is Jean Phil?
Jean Phil is an account that posts AI-generated clips of a character in a big blond bob and a vintage brown or tweed suit and tie, with a deadpan face, in a plain white or beige room. The character hops and knocks on an invisible door on the beat of "Toc toc". Our own TikTok sample shows posts under #jeanphil from 25 September 2026. We do not know who runs the account, and we do not claim to.
When did it peak?
On Google Trends, the search "jean phil" peaked around 6 October 2026 and then fell to roughly a fifth of that level in the weeks after. The most-viewed human version, a dorm hallway clip that has since passed 39.8M plays, was posted that same day. In late October, "toc toc patrick sebastien" was still rising while "jean phil" was falling, which is what you expect when people move from the character to the song behind it.
Why people call it the Jean Phil dance
A name sticks to whoever people saw first. For many viewers, Jean Phil's clips were the first they saw, so the dance became "the Jean Phil dance" in captions and searches such as "jean phil dance" and "jean phil ai". It is a label from viewers, not a claim of origin: French press credits the choreography to a 17-year-old French creator, and the song is from 2015. The question of who came first is covered on the original video page.
Lookalikes and copies
The look is easy to reproduce, so lookalike accounts and AI clips appeared fast. Some are full characters; others are ordinary people wearing a wig and a suit. A few couples posted shared versions. Treat any account claiming to be the original character with caution, because we cannot verify which is which.
How to make a similar look of yourself
You can have the same blond bob and vintage suit on yourself, not on a character. The Blond Bob Solo template takes one photo of you and renders an 11-second dance with the trend sound mixed in. The look is generic, and the result is you, not a copy of the account. If you prefer something without the wig, White Suit Disco keeps the suit and drops the bob. Open the generator to try it.
The wig look has its own page: toc toc bob hair. For the trend as a whole, read the trend explainer, and for every template go to the dances page.
Our position
Toc Toc Dance AI is independent and has no link to the Jean Phil account, to Patrick Sébastien, to TikTok or to ByteDance. The videos we make use your own photo, or that of an adult who agreed, and a generic look. Independent AI video tool.
